Hemant K Batra is an internationally renowned Speaker, Orator, Author, Academician, Writer, Law – Public Policy Analyst and Expert in the areas of policies governing Economics, Trade, Corporate Governance, Commercial Transactions, and Treaties. He is the elected vice-president of SAARCLAW (South Asian Association for Regional cooperation in law), a regional apex body of SAARC established in 1990, and being the longest serving Secretary General of SAARCLAW i.e. almost 10 years in the past. He was awarded prestigious Mahatma Gandhi Seva Medal by the Gandhi Global Foundation for effectively connecting legal communities of the SAARC nations. He was a mentor at several prestigious schools of business and a lifetime member of the general Assembly of the Union of International Association (UIA), a research institute and documentation centre, based in Brussels. It was founded over 100 years ago, in 1907, by Henri La Fontaine (Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 1913) and Paul Otlet, a founding father of what is now called information science. The UIA has consultative status with ECOSOC and associate status with UNESCO. He began his legal career in 1991 when he was admitted to the prestigious new Delhi Bar; and inducted into one of India’s largest firms of solicitors — Amarchand then AMHS. In 1995, he co-founded Kesar Dass B. & Associates (KDB) as managing partner of its corporate office. In 2003, he had founded Käden Boriss brand, a global alliance of law firms. In 2005, he had founded an international KPO called Kaden Boriss Consulting Private Limited.
He is a well-acclaimed writer with seven diverse books to his authorship. His latest books on `Due Diligence’ in business and asset acquisition, and`Mediation: Legitimacy and Practice’ have been published by a leading law publishers Eastern Book Company and have sold hundreds of copies already. The books have been recommended for reading by eminent personalities including a former Chief Justice of India and the current Attorney General of India me Minister and the Secretary General – SAARC. His other books include `Face To Face With Insight (Law & Policy)’ and `Global Concerns Viewed With Law & Policy’. He has been widely covered and reported in leading newspapers, magazines and tv channels.
He has written as well as lectured widely. He is a visiting guest speaker at various international universities and institutions. Until 2019, he has spoken as a speaker at more than 175 international conferences, seminars, and workshops on varied topics of commercial importance. He has travelled extensively around the world including Australia, Austria, Bhutan, Czech Republic, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Indonesia, Kuwait, Mauritius, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Russia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE, UK, US, Vietnam and more.
