The first is the life others expect us to live.
The second is the life we build through our choices, ambitions, achievements, failures, and experiences.
But there is often a third life. The life we secretly wish we had lived. The road not taken. The dream postponed. The conversation never had. The risk never taken. The person we might have become under different circumstances.
This third life is not necessarily about regret. More often, it is about possibility, curiosity, and the quiet questions we ask ourselves as we move through life.
In my latest article, Every Human Being Lives Three Lives, I reflect on these three dimensions of our existence and why understanding them may be one of the keys to understanding ourselves.
I suspect many of you will recognize parts of your own journey in it.
